I love traveling to West Virginia! Beautiful scenery, friendly people. I especially enjoy Morgantown--and there are a number of cave exploration tours that are great. White Sulpher Springs is very well know & there are several spas if you like that sort of thing.

West Virginia is beautiful if you like rural nature (contrary to a previous answer). In the summer, definitely treat yourself to White Water Rafting on New River. Highly recommended.
