Boy, I hope U R not an American.

DC is District of Columbia, not a state exactly, but has it's own governmental entity. DC borders Virginia and Maryland.

The state of Washington is on the west coast of the USA, and is the northwestern most state or the 48 contiguous states (the lower 48). There is a LOT of cool stuff there - Seattle is a great city, mountains, forests, lots of agriculture in the eastern part.

Next time, Wikipedia or a million other sites could answer this question.

Dc is located in northern Virginia and Southern Maryland

the White House is located on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue which is in North West D.C. so if you need to know a state the White House would be located in Maryland but it is the District of Columbia

Wow! I see a lot of bad answers here. Washington DC is NOT in VA nor is it in PA. I live in VA, and am a 10 minute WALK away. Washington is in the Distict of Columbia. You can find the white house at the following address:

1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW

Washington, DC 20500

I'm not quite sure what you can find in Washington state, however I have heard that it's quite gloomy. Hope this helps.

Washington DC is a district and not a part of any state. It is not in Washington state.

It is close to Maryland and Virginia.

The site was chosen so the capital would be closer to the South rather than in the North, where it was located before moving.
