In the DC area there are some nice parks for family events, including Rock Creek Park, Greenbelt Park, and the park along the GW Parkway. There's much to see in DC and some venues you can visit include the Smithsonian museums and the Spy Musuem is a treat. If the Newseum is open, that is also a fun and interesting place to go. Theres's a Six Flags in Largo, MD and 45 minutes up interstate 95 there's Baltimore and Inner Harbor with all of it's exciting locales.
