Which zoo is better the National Zoo or the Baltimore Zoo?

The National Zoo is better. It is part of the Smithsonian and is huge. The pandas are the big draw. There is a new Asia Trail. Some of the buildings need renovating and it is all scheduled. It is also FREE.

Well, the other responders are right about the National Zoo. It is free. So is the parking. It is also huge, much larger than the Baltimore Zoo. BUT, the Baltimore Zoo is more fun. There is much more participation by zoo-goers. If you go at feeding time, you can feed a giraffe or an ape. The animals are more active generally and seem more interested in people. There are demonstrations and lectures by the keepers throughout the day. Check the website for times. It is smaller and more intimate overall. There is a lot for children to do, too. Turtle shells to try on, a tree slide, trails and bridges to cross. Kids love it. You should probably visit both, if you can. Not on the same day, of course. I think you'll agree with me.

The National Zoo is one of the best in the country. AND it's free as well. The aquarium in Baltimore is pretty cool though, but the National Zoo is definitely better.

I don't think there is a zoo in baltimore is there? The National Zoo is better, and its free cos its part of the Smithsonian. The Baltimore Aquarium is waaay better than the National Aquarium tho

I generally prefer the National (DC) Zoo... The Baltimore Zoo does have penguins, though, which the National Zoo doesn't have.

the National zoo is better, because it is better funded. However, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore (as it is now known) is actually quite nice.

I remember their beautiful polar bear exhibit.

And, if you are looking for a good day trip, you can combine a trip to the Aquarium in Baltimore's Inner Harbour.

The national zoo is better. Its bigger plus its free, and in a good neighborhood. The bmore zoo is in the hood.
